Meeting Minutes for Jan 28, 2017

Here are the minutes from the meeting held on January 28.

Our focus this meeting was on coordinating regular weekly food production and figuring out where we stand on supplies.

We have doubled food production recently, serving both chili and soup each week vice a “tick tock” schedule. As a result, we had to make a few changes to the logistical side of the house.

Deliverance Rally!

If you love Deliverance and want to help further, here’s your chance! January 28th there will be an assembly of the people of Deliverance.

  • Involved currently? Come!
  • Follow Deliverance online but haven’t stepped in to serve yet? We want you there!
  • Have a great mind? Bring it!

We will be discussing food coordination, needs of the ministry, and financials. ON TOP OF THAT…!

We’re having a party!

Between putting bags together and delivering it downtown there isn’t a lot of time to get to get to know each other well. SO on top of the meeting we will be feasting on potluck dinner goodies.

Meeting Minutes from 26 June

Good Evening!

The meeting minutes have been posted from our most recent board meeting.

We have recently had to make some changes to how we work downtown. At least one ministry that serves downtown has been given cease and desist orders. Law Enforcement sweeps of the homeless encampments are increasing drastically, and the homeless that remain are being concentrated into smaller sections. Tension is high, and we value the safety of our volunteers. For this reason we will be stepping back some of the work that we do, and making some changes to how the ministry works.

1- We will be taking a break from hot chili and soup for the month of July in order to continue serving while still respecting the wishes of the city and law enforcement in the area.
2-We will set up at Murphy Canyon Chapel at 5:00 to pack bags before heading downtown to distribute, allowing people to carpool, etc.
3-We may take a break from serving downtown the first weekend of the month and/or holiday weekends.

We will revisit these and many other issues with the ministry at our next meeting July 31. If you are involved with the ministry, you are invited to our board meetings. Please join us at the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf on Clairemont Mesa Blvd at 11:00. You are also more than welcome to contact us via email or Facebook with any questions.

Next Meeting!

We will be having a meeting this Sunday, June 26 to discuss Deliverance business, corporate filings, etc. If you are involved with this ministry and have something to add please join us outside at the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf on Clairemont Mesa BLVD at 11:00 AM. If you will not be able to make it but have a concern, please contact us to speak with us at any time.

If you have questions about our ministry, this meeting, or would like to contact us, please send us an email or a facebook message.

…Cancellation for this week…

We will be unable to serve this week due to a lack of available volunteers.  This is the first time this has happened, and hopefully will be the last.  However, to our friends downtown, know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all.  We will be praying for your health, safety and for your provision this weekend.   If you have been considering volunteering with Deliverance, and have been unable to – -now is the time to start!  We will resume all normal serving next week.
